Tess Brooks

Tess is passionate about women’s empowerment, and how business can create sustainable social impact. She believes communicating about challenging topics and practicing empathy deepen relationships and make life interesting. Tess has an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Anthropology and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Prior to b school, she spent three years working in management consulting for Bain & Company in Brazil, Argentina, and California. Tess loves soccer, jazz, hosting, the outdoors, and her incredible 3 sisters in SF.
Rachel Hanebutt
Co-founder
Working at the intersection of gender equality and cognitive science, Rachel graduated with an Ed.M. in Mind, Brain and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She holds an undergraduate degree from DePauw University and is currently a graduate student at the Emerson Engagement Lab’s Civic Media, Art and Practice Program. Rachel joined the Confi team because of her love of technology and getting sex positive sex and health information in the hands of young people.

Corinne Daley
Graphic Design
Corinne is Team Confi’s newest graphic designer. You’ll either find her in a bar or a coffee shop since her graduation from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2017. Both of Corinne’s degrees: Communication and International Relations, are fueled her passion for sexology. Her mom always jokes with close friends who ask what she wants to do with my life that there are books about vaginas all around the house because the topic of sexology is all she reads! Besides that, Corinne enjoys playing classical piano and cooking up vegan dishes.
Madi Bernstein
Research and Creative Content Intern
Madi is a rising senior at Tufts University studying Public Health and Sociology. She is passionate about sexual health, health education, and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene). Madi spent last semester abroad in Kenya studying public health and conducting research about menstrual hygiene management in informal settlements. She was drawn to Confi for its commitment to providing factual sexual health information in an approachable way. In her free time, Madi likes to cook and eat (especially cheese) and spend time with her friends, family, and dog. She is really excited to work with Confi this summer!

Zoé Kibbelaar
Zoe is a junior at Harvard College majoring in Human Developmental and Regenerate Biology. She is passionate about global health equity and hopes to pursue a career in medicine. Outside of class, Zoe is involved with women’s rights groups and peer health education on campus.
Qaren Quartey
Qaren is a research technician at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Her research focuses on the application of genetics to the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. She is strongly devoted to the empowerment of women, particularly in regards to health and wellness. Qaren hopes to be a physician one day. Qaren graduated from Harvard College in 2015 in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
Emma Canepa
Emma is a senior at the University of California, Berkeley studying Molecular and Cell Biology. She plans on using her passions for biology and women’s health to pursue a career in healthcare. In addition to her studies, she is involved in research at UCSF hospital as well as theater on campus.
Nyla Fuller, CPA, CMA
Nyla’s passion for health and wellness attracted her to Team Confi. Nyla has worked with several social organizations in professional finance and management roles. Nyla holds a CPA designation, Masters degree in General Management (Harvard University) and enjoys supporting enterprises that assist, educate and better others.
Rosa Hamalainen
Rosa is currently a sophomore at Stanford University majoring in Product Design. She has completed coursework in chemistry and biology is passionate about women’s health issues, female sexuality, and medicine. She hopes to pursue a career in medical device innovation. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, painting and volunteering with Veterans.
Samantha Lin
Samantha is currently an undergraduate student at the University of California, Davis studying managerial economics with a business economics emphasis. She hopes to pursue a career in marketing and has a passion for helping others and bettering the world. She also LOVES thai food.
Tahnee Saunders
Tahnee is a research technician in a lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is passionate about science literacy in general, in particular the access to and understanding of information that can empower people to make informed decisions about their own health. Tahnee has previous experience with community driven projects to increase health literacy and has worked as a research assistant in the area of population health and obesity prevention in children. Tahnee completed a Bachelor of Science (2012) and Master of Biotechnology (2014) at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She hopes to pursue a PhD in the future and continue her pursuit in the communication of science and health topics.

Emily Tam
Emily is a MD/MPH-Health Management candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles/Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies Field with a concentration in Human Memory and Cognition from the University of California, Berkeley. Emily is passionate about health education, women’s health, and reducing health disparities, which led her to her experiences as a sexual health educator, breast cancer researcher at Kaiser Permanente, and community advocate.
